Facelift

As we age, our faces naturally take on an old, tired appearance, produced by wrinkled, creased skin and sagging of the deeper structures of the face, neck, and brows. This is worsened by fat deposits and folds around the jaws. While a facelift at our Gold River practice near Sacramento can't stop the aging process, in many cases it can "turn back the clock."

Facelifts are very successful when performed alone, but are often combined with other facial procedures such as an eyelid surgery or a forehead lift. Patients may also consider chin or cheek implants as well to further enhance their appearance.

Facelift surgery at our Gold River plastic surgery center is an outpatient procedure typically performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation. Incisions are made behind or along the hairline, and in the creases and fold around the ear. Excess fat is removed as muscles and deep tissues are tightened. The skin is then carefully repositioned and secured with tiny sutures.

After a facelift, our Sacramento-area and Northern California patients’ recovery times vary from two to six weeks, depending on the individual and the extent of the procedure. Swelling and minor discomfort can be expected for a few days following the procedure, and the sutures are usually removed after about 10 days. Most patients are back to light activity in 10 to 14 days, and may resume their normal activities in about a month.

Forehead/Brow Lift

A forehead lift, also known as a brow lift, can do wonders for your appearance, by reducing the negative facial contours that make you look angry, tired, or older than you feel. Eyelid Lift

Eyelid surgery, medically known as blepharoplasty, can take years off your appearance by correcting drooping, swollen eyelids that make you look tired or older than you feel. It is also frequently performed to correct impaired vision caused by hanging skin.

Eyelid surgery is performed on an outpatient basis under sedation with local anesthesia. Otoplasty - Ear Surgery

Many children suffer from large, protruding ears. Otoplasty, or ear surgery, is a surgical procedure reduces the size and corrects the shape of a person's ears. While ear surgery is typically performed between the ages of five and 14, Dr. Finkler has also treated many adult patients. Ear surgery, or pinning, is highly effective procedure because it improves both appearance and self-confidence, which can usually suffer because of ridicule by a child's peers. Ear surgery is completely safe and extremely effective.

Chin and Cheek Implants

Dynamic facial contours are the cornerstone for an attractive appearance. Strong chin and cheek features add definition to the face and can be created with chin and cheek implants. Dr. Finkler often provides chin and cheek implants for victims of facial trauma and congenital defects, but anyone can benefit from the added facial contours. Implants are placed through an outpatient procedure that leaves no visible scarring (the incisions are made inside the mouth).
